Our vows and some pics of the honeymoon and wedding

I promised to share our vows with everyone after the wedding, so here ya go.

Brittany,
I have always dreamed of this day. Of the day where I am standing here in this very spot getting ready to marry the girl of my dreams; but in that dream I never knew the woman I would be marrying would be the nicest , most loving, caring and giving woman I’ve ever known. I love you so much. I was born to love you baby. I just thank God for bringing us together. You know, before I met you I wasn’t the best person, but your love saved me and made me the man I wanted and needed to be. So I just wanted to say thank you. And if you marry me today, I cross my heart and promise to give all I have to give to make all of your dreams come true, and I promise to love, honor and cherish you for the rest of my life. I love you so much baby.

Travis,
The day I met you changed my life forever. I have grown to be a better and stronger person because I know that you will be with me through everything, good and bad.
I promise love and support you in everything that you do. I will be by your side through every win, and every loss, in life, and baseball. I promise to allow you to follow your dreams, and I will be with you every step of the way. I will be faithful to you and appreciative of everything that you do for me and our family. You are an amazing man and I am so lucky to be able to call you my husband. You are my favorite, forever and always, and I love you.

It's almost here!

Ok, so the wedding day is less than 48 hours away, and I'm doing really good I think. I'm not stressed out. I just finished my vows, which I promise I will post both of our vows after the ceremony. Travis actually wrote his first, which I thought was cute. He made a playlist he titled "Love" and listened to music and wrote his vows.

Everything is going really amazingly well. I love, love, love our preacher. We had met with a man before and he wouldn't marry us because we lived together. He knew going into that we lived together and met with us anyway. He said he could marry us if we made other arrangements between then and the ceremony, but we didn't really have any options for that, nor did I really want to do that. I understood he didn't agree, but I didn't understand how it would be better if we didn't live together for three weeks. If you don't agree you don't agree, and that should be final. I mean we were already planning on not spending the night before the wedding together, would that have been ok or no? I know I'm being silly, but it was really upsetting to me. However, we found an amazing man that we have really connected with to do the ceremony and I'm so excited. Just another example as to how everything really does happen for a reason.

Tomorrow I have to get my nails done, eyebrows waxed, and I have to attend the rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. So far everything is going extremely smoothly and I'm just ready for it to be here. I'm spending tomorrow night with my closest friends. We got a hotel room to just hang out and talk all night (well not all night I have to get some beauty sleep). I promise to post pics on Saturday if I can remember to have someone take some with my camera.

Last minute advice

Ok, there are only 10 days until our wedding. At this moment I'm not stressed, but I really feel like I am leaving things out. So, I need any last minute tips, thoughts or suggestions for the wedding day. Also, for any of you that have been on a cruise, any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for all of your help.

We had our bachelor/bachelorette party this weekend. We rented a 24 person stretch SUV limo and drove around and went out downtown. I broke my camera so I don't have many pics and I also lost my phone, so send me your phone numbers!!!!

Wedding Shower #1

Me and Casey's mom, Karen

I had my first wedding shower today and it was so much fun. It was fall themed with chocolate treats, and lots of people from Casey's family, my two aunts, my cousin, and then Travis's nana, mom, and cousin Lucy came. It was really a great turnout and we got lots of goodies. Now I just have to learn how to cook...

My mom is alive!

Ok, well where to begin. My mom's alive. After 15 years she's decided it's time to come out of the shadows, yet again, and try to contact me. This time it's not as easy to find me, seeing as how her only contact is my grandmother that I haven't spoken to in over 5 years. Apparently, my mom called my grandma (her mom) on Monday. She's currently living in New Mexico, with a woman she met in prison. Yep, that's right. You can't even make up a story this good. She told my grandma she was in a car accident two years ago and no longer has the use of her right arm, she's had two surgeries and still needs one more. I'm thinking that's probably why she called, she wants money. She has to want something. It's just too weird. If she googled me, my facebook would pop up saying that I was engaged to Travis, which I changed my settings so that won't happen, I didn't realize that happened. Well then she could have googled Travis, and I'm thinking that's what it is. Now I'm just afraid she'll show up here or at the wedding. Anyways, I just needed to vent and try to deal with this. My aunt has her phone number and I don't know what to do with it. I'm not doing anything until after the wedding. I don't know that I want to speak to her, I have some questions, but I think other people could ask her those for me. I don't know what to say to her. Help! Thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank goodness Travis is by my side through all of this. Casey's mom said that God works in mysterious ways and sometimes has a sick sense of humor, I agree, but he also knows that I probably couldn't have handled this information before now. My life is on track and couldn't be better and I get this, but I can handle it. I have the most amazing future husband (not too far away!!!), friends, and family (not all are legally related, but they completely count) I could ask for and I am so thankful to have all of them by my side during this.

Goodbye sleepless nights

Well we have done a lot of work this week for the wedding. Travis promised me three full days of wedding, and luckily for him we only needed two. We went and got our rings. His looks just like something he would wear. We had to send off my engagement ring with my band to get it fitted, hopefully it works, we'll see. I feel so weird without my engagement ring. I know one morning I'm going to wake up and think I've lost it until I realize where it really is. We went and picked out what the boys will be wearing. We met with the caterer, the cake lady, and the florist. Everything is going very smoothly. Travis drug me to the woods with him for the night and it was actually really nice. I slept until 10:30, which was amazing because I've been getting up with a million things on my mind around 7ish every morning. I woke up this morning and didn't even think about the wedding. Now all we need to do is pack for the honeymoon! Oh, and have some showers.

More wedding

Ok, well the wedding is getting close and there is still so much to do. We went and met with the cake lady last and and she really liked both of the cakes I had picked out. She said she can definitely do them both, and Travis is really excited because he's going to put a picture of his best friends lab on the top of his cake. I tried pulling for Abbi in her pirate costume, but he insisted in wouldn't fit in with the theme. I ordered a veil yesterday also. I'm not 100 percent sure I'm going to wear one, but we'll try it and see. We are slowly but surely getting invitations addressed and I can't wait to start getting the RSVP cards back. My first shower is Nov. 9 so it's coming up. We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond and Target. Registering was definitely the most fun Travis has had planning for the wedding, and at Bed Bath and Beyond they offered us beverages, I liked it. Today we are going back up to the place we're having the wedding and meeting with the caterer. Another stressful meeting I wish someone else could handle. I don't know what everyone wants to eat or how much to get and I don't care. I'm just to the point I'm over it, and I want it to be here. I love everyone and want them to come and have a wonderful time, but I'm so over planning it. My head constantly hurts and I can't go to sleep without Tylenol PM even when I'm completely exhausted.

Fair, birthdays and flower girls.

Travis and I at the fair
At West End
The girls trying on their flower girl dresses

Saturday was Casey's birthday and the Razorback game vs. Auburn, which we actually won (amazingly). After everyone came up to West End to watch the game, and I worked, we went out to Cajun's to celebrate. Travis was away in the woods trying to kill the big deer he has pictures of. He killed a doe, and is back in the woods today for the big one.

Monday night we went to the fair with some friends. It was so much fun. The corn dog was just as good as I remembered and the cotton candy was even better. Travis did make me ride one ride, the pirate ship and the entire time I had my head burried in his shoulder and a death grip on his hand. I hate rides. The boys could barely make it past all the games at the front of the fair, and they wasted about 200 between two of them winning little stuffed animals for the dogs to rip up in about five seconds. It was a little warm outside, but it was still a nice night and we all had a good time.

Yesterday afternoon, Amber and I took Casey out to lunch for her birthday. Afterwards, Casey and I met up with Jess and the girls so they could try on their dresses. They love them and I'm so excited. They were concerned about how they were going to do their hair and what shoes to wear. They're so grown up already, it's scary.

Travis is home, but now it's hunting season

Back a day early:
Well, Travis surprised me Saturday night when I got off work by being at the house waiting for me. He wasn't supposed to fly in until Sunday, but he missed me and was ready to be home so he flew back a day early. I was so excited to see him. It was a long two weeks. Of course, the next morning he got up and went hunting (the real reason he came home a day early).
Wedding news:
I went for my first dress fitting on Wednesday. The lady said it should be done in 2-3 weeks. I just hope I don't gain any weight between now and the wedding because if she gets the top as tight as she wants, I will not be able to breathe. I don't care if I can breathe, as long as it stays up and I'm not tugging at it all night.
Travis is starting to get excited about the honeymoon. He talked to some people about cruises and he got all kinds of advice so now he's ready to go. I personally cannot wait for the honeymoon. The ship looks gorgeous and I am going to need a vacation if I make it to the wedding day. It seems like all day every day I'm thinking about the wedding and what else we need to do or get. We are cutting it close with so many things I just hope everything works out. I know it will, I'm just not sure how it will.
Well Travis is in the woods, he killed a doe this afternoon. He's very excited because he's got a lot of pictures of bucks, one really big one. So I'm thinking I'm never going to see him now. We're going to the fair next week and I'm so excited, corn dogs and cotton candy here I come (I'll worry about fitting in that wedding dress after the fair).

Two months and two days till the wedding!!!

I'm back!

Abbi is the cutest pirate ever!
Ok, so I've been away, computer problems and then I forgot the gmail account that I had to create to do this in the first place and I was too lazy to search for it. Anyways, I'm back, and I'll try to not disappear again. So Travis is in Sarasota still. He had to go down there for two weeks to supposedly work on a few things. So far he's only face actual batters once I believe, and he's supposed to face them again on Friday, two days before he leaves. I don't understand this baseball stuff sometimes, really a lot of times.

As far as wedding planning goes, things are going well. I'm going to meet with the caterer and the people at the place next week and get further details about how everything will be set up. We've bought some decorations, we've set a date for a shower (Nov. 15), when Travis gets back we're going to go register, I made an appointment with the lady that will alter my dress for next Wednesday...I don't know what else. All I know is that my head is already hurting I'm pretty sure because I'm stressing out. I can't sleep very well, thank goodness for Tyenol PM and good wine. I got my passport in the mail yesterday which was very exciting because I was nervous I had waited too long or something. It only took 8 days which is insane. My passport beat my birth certificate here.

Well that is all I know for now, four days till Travis gets back!!!

Monday, August 4, 2008

Well, I've never blogged before, but at the mention of my fellow baseball-wife- friend Heather I decided why not. With Travis and I gone the majority of the year from friends and family, it might be nice for them to be able to check in here and see what all we're up to.
Let me just say that I'm soooo ready for the end of the season. I love going to watch Travis and the boys play, but I'm so ready to be home with friends and family. I am also ready to finish planning our wedding and for the big day to come.
It has been nice this year actually getting to see family and friends a few times throughout the season. Playing in Chattanooga has given people a better chance to come and see him pitch. We played in Jackson, TN and he had a cheering section of about 25.
It's nice to have people at the games that actually know baseball. I understand the basics at this point, but I don't know the specifics. I still cannot tell the difference when he throws a curve ball or a change up, and I don't know that I ever will. But I do know what those pitches are and that is a huge improvement.
Travis started out the year in Sarasota, FL and got moved up on Memorial Day. We got that call at about 10:30 in the morning, and we were packed up and on the road to Chatt in a matter of a couple of hours. This is the life of minor league baseball. If you stick with me and continue reading this blog, you will see. When we got to Chattanooga we stayed in the team set up hotel for the first three days and luckily found an amazing apartment to move into with the two other guys that moved up at the same time we did.
So that brings us to today. Travis is out of town on a 10 day road trip which is horrible and hard to handle, especially when all of the wives are gone also. He comes home tomorrow and I could not be more excited. The season is winding down and as of today it does not look like we will make the play offs. So it looks like we will be home late, late September 1. We are planning on having the cars packed and ready to go as soon as the game is over. So I will be seeing everyone soon!!!
Well, I realize I have rambled on in this and next time I will try to have an actual point, but I just wanted to update everyone as to where we are and what is going on.
